These Italian designer buttons are made in the artisanal style that Italy is known for.
In this case, dyed polyester resin is shaped and polished into a right angle triangle, with a twist. Face is hand carved with a deep spiral with a soft indent at the base; a tunnel shank is drilled through the lower middle. Absolutely stunning.
 
The long shape of this button works like a toggle style button; the buttonhole size is determined from the centre to the furthest edge and allowing for the thickness of the button.
